OPENING OF THE GREEN
The start of the new bowling season will soon be upon us and I have had a few inquiries regarding access to the green. The outdoor season starts on Saturday, 22nd April at 2.30pm and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the opening match of Captain v Vice Captain. The dress code is whites and our standard match fee applies so have your fivers ready to hand over to your Skips. This is a fun, practice afternoon (with a competitive edge of course) and it will be followed by a buffet tea in the clubhouse.
I hope to distribute our Fixture Cards but you can view our club fixtures on the website NOW at metpolicebusheybowlsclub.
co.uk I also have County and District handbooks for those who have entered external competitions (and wish them all the best of luck)
CLUB OPEN DAY
Please take a moment to look at the notice boards in the hut and if you can, sign up for a 2 hour slot to help at our Club Open Day. Better still, bring along your family and friends to have a taster session whilst you are there! Times are 10-12, 12-2 & 2-4.
Only one rule, please make sure everyone is wearing flat soled shoes.
Thanks to Pat and a few of our very handy male members, there are now lockers available for women to leave 'their stuff' rather than carrying everything to the green. If you would like a locker, please see me and I will allocate you a key.
This season we are reverting back to the system of having a diary for rink bookings. The diary can be found on the small shelf by the back entrance of the main bar. All club matches should already be entered into the diary to avoid double bookings. Members must book a rink for all competitions. Please give the start time, your name, the name of your opponent and marker if a singles match. The type of competition you are playing e.g. District triples, County pairs, Club 2-wood etc. The diary is accessible to the Grounds staff and the Duty Managers so with this information they will be able to alert members to any problems should they arise.
Wishing you all a healthy and happy season.
